The sound system will be expertly managed by Shri Vinod Shirodkar, ensuring a flawless audio experience for all.
Born and raised in Kolkata, Shri Manab Das is a seasoned sitarist who has been practicing and performing for over five decades. He began his musical journey at the tender age of six under the Bhattacharya of the Maihar Gharana. His dedication bore fruit early, with his first performance at the age of nine.
Shri Das pursued his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music at Visva-Bharati University, Shantiniketan, and was honored with the National Scholarship from the Ministry of Human Resource Development. He joined the Goa College of Music under the Government of Goa as an Assistant Professor and, serving the institution with distinction, retired as its Principal in recognition of his contributions to music education.
His performances include distinguished stages such as Rashtrapati Bhavan, where he played for former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and numerous prestigious music conferences worldwide. Through his albums and live performances, Shri Das has shared the spiritual essence of Indian classical music with global audiences.
A respected artist for All India Radio and Doordarshan, Shri Das has performed extensively across India and abroad, showcasing the richness of Indian classical music in Germany, Scotland, London, and other countries. He has also had the privilege of performing live on BBC Radio. His extensive discography includes several albums and CDs, with his most recent release in 2023 featuring collaborations with German artists and a film director. This project, inspired by the healing power of yoga and meditation, reflects his ability to blend tradition with innovation.
