IndoML 2026 — Graduate Forum

A forum for MTech, MS, and PhD students in India working in AI/ML. Submissions are made through Microsoft CMT.

About the Forum

For MTech, MS, or PhD students in India working on machine learning, NLP, computer vision, speech, or artificial intelligence. The forum is a platform to present research through posters and spotlight talks, receive feedback from experts, meet peers across India, and engage with the IndoML research community.

Eligibility
  • Currently enrolled MTech / MS / PhD students at institutions in India working in AI/ML
  • Students with published work, recently accepted papers, or strong work in progress
  • A recommendation from the student's supervisor or faculty mentor is required

Submission Categories

  • Published and Attended — published work presented by the student in person at a symposium or conference
  • Published but Not Attended — published work where the student did not get an in-person presentation opportunity
  • Work in Progress — ongoing research, early results, strong proposals, or preliminary ideas

How to Apply — CMT Steps

  1. Open the CMT Graduate Forum submission link below and Log In (or Register if you're new to CMT).
  2. Click "Create New Submission" under Track: Graduate Forum IndoML 2026.
  3. Enter your Title, Abstract, and Author details.
  4. Upload exactly 2 PDFs: your 2-page extended abstract and a signed Letter of Recommendation.
  5. Answer the additional questions (institute, PhD enrolment, supervisor, submission category, theme) and click Submit — by August 15, 2026.

CMT Submission Link — Graduate Forum

Submission Details

  • 2-page extended abstract covering abstract/introduction, problem definition, related work, method, experimental results, and references
  • Signed Letter of Recommendation from supervisor or faculty mentor — submissions without a signed LOR will not be reviewed
  • For published work: include venue, paper status, authorship info, and whether the student attended in person
  • For multi-author work: only one author should submit; only the submitting/registered author will be shortlisted
  • Use the same email for CMT submission, IndoML registration, and all communication

Review Criteria

  • Significance and motivation of the problem being tackled
  • Originality, technical clarity, and innovation in the approach
  • Strength of results and comparison against relevant baselines
  • Research maturity (published / accepted / proposal) — all three categories are accepted

Presentation & Awards

  • All accepted submissions are presented as posters during the Graduate Forum
  • Selected submissions may be invited for short spotlight presentations
  • INR 50,000 in cash prizes for the top five selected poster/spotlight presenters
  • Accepted participants must submit a final poster and present it in person (recommended size: 2.5 ft × 3.5 ft)

Travel & Participation Support

Selected participants receive support toward registration fees, 3-tier AC travel, meals, and accommodation during the symposium. Tentative travel allowance slabs (round-trip 3AC):

Submission Details

  • 2-page extended abstract describing your ML work or interests — e.g. a summary of a research project, course project, or independent study; your motivation and areas of interest in ML; relevant skills and prior experience. Writing should be accessible to a broad ML audience.
  • Faculty Recommendation — signed by a faculty advisor or Head of Department using the provided endorsement template, as a basic endorsement of the submission's authenticity and quality.

Students whose posters are selected for acceptance are eligible for partial travel and funding support.
