About the Forum

Are you an MTech, MS, or PhD student in India working on machine learning, NLP, computer vision, speech, or artificial intelligence?

Join us at IndoML 2026 for the Graduate Forum: a platform to present your research through posters and spotlight talks, receive feedback from experts, meet peers across India, and engage with the IndoML research community.

Eligibility

  • Currently enrolled MTech/MS/PhD students at institutions in India and working in AI/ML, including NLP, computer vision (CV), speech, and related areas
  • Students with published work, recently accepted papers, or strong work in progress
  • A recommendation from the student's supervisor, faculty advisor, or faculty mentor is required

Submission Categories

Published and Attended
Published work presented by the student in person at a symposium or conference

Published but Not Attended
Published work where the student did not get an in-person presentation opportunity

Work in Progress
Ongoing research, early results, strong proposals, or preliminary ideas

How to Apply

Students must submit applications through Microsoft CMT using the official Graduate Forum submission portal.

Submission
2-page extended abstract and a single page signed Letter of Recommendation

Submit two separate PDFs containing your 2-page extended abstract and signed Letter of Recommendation. The abstract should present the current state of your research clearly and concisely. It should include:

  • Abstract and introduction
  • Problem definition, motivation, and broader relevance
  • Related work or literature survey
  • Method, technical contribution, or proposed approach
  • Experimental results
  • References, which may use additional pages if needed
  • Writing that is accessible to a broad ML audience

Supervisor or Faculty Recommendation
Endorsement from your supervisor, advisor, or faculty mentor

The signed Letter of Recommendation should confirm the authenticity and suitability of the submission for the Graduate Forum. Submissions without a signed LOR will not be reviewed.

Published-Paper Details
Required when submitting already published or accepted work

Include venue, paper status, authorship information, and whether the student attended the symposium or conference in person.

Authorship and Registration Policy
For multi-author work and IndoML-related communication
  • For multi-author work, only one author should submit
  • Only the submitting/registered author will be shortlisted to attend IndoML and present the poster or spotlight talk if selected
  • Students should use the same email ID for CMT submission, IndoML registration, and related communication

Review Criteria

  • Significance and motivation of the problem being tackled
  • Originality, technical clarity, and innovation in the approach
  • Strength of results and comparison against relevant baselines, where applicable
  • Research maturity, including whether the work is published, accepted, or a proposal
  • Submissions will be accepted from all three categories: published and attended, published but not attended, and work in progress

Presentation & Awards

  • All accepted submissions will be presented as posters during the Graduate Forum
  • Selected submissions may be invited for short spotlight presentations
  • INR 50,000 in cash prizes for the top five selected poster and spotlight presenters
  • Submissions may be clustered thematically to encourage focused discussion and peer exchange
  • Accepted participants must submit a final poster and present it in person at IndoML 2026
  • Participants should carry a printed poster to the symposium. Recommended poster size: 2.5 ft × 3.5 ft

Logistics & Support

Travel & Participation Support
Selected participants will receive support toward registration fees, 3-tier AC travel, meals, and accommodation during the symposium. Please refer to the accommodation details for more information.
